An RSS feed (or news feed) is a means by which you can stay informed about what's going on at St Cecilia Chorus without having to regularly visit the website.
To make use of an RSS feed, you need some "feed reader" (or "aggregator") software. Most modern web browsers have feed readers built in.

Following on from the Provence Tour in 2023, it is now time to quickly prepare for the choir tour in 2026.
Everyone I have talked to about the Provence tour have said that they really enjoyed being on the tour in France with the choir. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy time doing what we all love to do - singing - especially in beautiful and historic venues, and socialising with friends and fellow
members in down time, often with a glass of Prosecco in hand. Who can forget singing in the exquisite Abbeye de Frigolet or our meal together at Aix-en-Provence?
I would like to begin by asking how many members are interested in joining the tour. Friends and family members of the choir are warmly invited as well as singers from other choirs. To help you make your decision I am including an outline of the proposed tour.
The dates for the 2026 Tour are Wednesday 24 to Saturday 27th June 2026 and include a 4 day, 3 night stay.
VENUE: KOBLENZ and the Rhineland
This venue offers the choir the chance to combine exciting performance opportunities with exploring the picturesque central and southern Rhine Valley and sailing down the beautiful River Rhine from Boppard passing Lorelei.
We shall be staying at the 4*Hotel Mercure Koblenz for four days and three nights on a half-board basis. The hotel is situated in the southern part of the Koblenz city and close to the magnificent Koblenz old town and is a short walk to the Rhine.
Koblenz is one of Germany’s oldest and most beautiful cities, lying at the confluence of the mighty River Rhine and the River Moselle. Vineyards, forests and four mountain ranges form a backdrop to this 2,000 year old city.
Attractions include travelling by cable car over the Rhine and Deutsches Eck,
the headland in Koblenz, where the two rivers merge. To the north are the cosmopolitan cities of Cologne and Bonn, the birthplace of Beethoven. To the
south, there is a wealth of picturesque countryside, historic castles, vineyards and attractive towns waiting to be explored. We shall be taking a river cruise down the Rhine from Boppard.
There will be three concerts, potentially at the following venues;
Cologne Cathedral: this impressive cathedral is the largest Gothic cathedral in Northern
Europe and was originally built to house the three wise men.
Koblenz Basilica
Benedictine Abbey of Maria Laach
The current projected cost is approximately £1,095 per person, based on a group of 35 members, plus a single supplement where required. The price includes the MD and accompanist expenses, but does not allow for costs of any boosters.
Please be aware that changes in professional fees and other increases beyond our control may result in an increase.
The flight will be with BA or Lufthansa leaving Heathrow for Cologne or Frankfurt am Main airport with a flight time of 1hr 25 mins. One piece of hand luggage and one piece of hold luggage of up to 23 kg is included. Anyone making their own way to Koblenz would save about £240 per person.
The cost of the tour includes return flights; 4* accommodation on a half board basis; travel around the Rhineland by coach; a bilingual tour guide; the cost of singing in three concert venues; insurance for members of 85 years old and under; all publicity and the hire of professional musicians and singers.
The cost will be paid in 3 instalments: the first payment to be taken in by 1 March 2025 for £260. This acts as a deposit and is non-refundable.
The second payment will be taken in mid October 2025 consisting of half the remaining balance. The final payment is to be taken ten weeks before
departure which will be in the middle of April 2026.
If for any reason you are unable to join the tour after all, you would only lose your deposit of £260 and any further money paid would be returned if this occurred 70 days, or before, departure. If you were able to find a replacement, then you would not be asked to pay anything.
I am looking forward to our next tour 2026 and to celebrating the wonderful achievement of over 100 years of choral singing at Banstead Musical Society.
Please let me know if you would like to join the tour as soon as possible by email at jennymiller8@hotmail.co.uk
A warm welcome awaits all who wish to join me on this new adventure.
